Terrain Sculpting

Creating Terrain:
  • Terrain Menu > Terrain > Create Terrain
  • Create > 3D objects > terrain
  • Scene > Shaded > Wireframe = reduces lag
  1. Height Map: a black and white image that correlates to some height
    1. black – lowest altitude
    2. white – highest altitude
    3. math determines height – 9:09
    4. importing height maps
      1. .raw format (16-18bit)
  2. Physical Sculpting:

19:00 – terrain tools

shift>click = reduce

clock = grow

25:30 – valleys

30:00 – smooth height

33:00 – exporting height maps

35:00 – texturing

44:00 – first person controller
